The fact that I sat here staring at this blank text field for the past twenty minutes is truly beyond me, but I figured I’d start here — I’m back and, “New York is in the mother fuckin’ house!” I mean, I haven’t really left… It’s been a year and a half since I last made a post on my personal blog, Nineteen91, which will soon direct here and I thought it was time to bring it back.
Within that time frame, a lot has changed, including myself. I have lost myself, found myself, and most importantly, recreated myself. For starters, I moved to the concrete jungle that is more commonly known as New York City, which is where I attended college for a year before moving to New Jersey. A total change from Seattle, it’s one that I embrace and love so much because this is where I watched a year of my life and dreams unfold before my eyes faster than I had planned. A more than humbling experience, I have met some of the most amazing people and have been presented with even more amazing opportunities. To all of which, I am thankful for.
To be only 20 years old and have lived my life thus far as if I’m 24, it’s weird. When I am asked by others what advice I would give to someone aspiring to follow in my footsteps, at any age, I share the same answer each time: Push yourself to ignite that one passion you are chasing after in your mind. Once you push yourself, remember that your success from there on will have nothing to do with luck, but rather blessings. If you work hard for something, luck plays no role in how your dreams transform in front of you. I live, eat, and breathe by those very words and I encourage everyone to do you.
So here I am attempting to restart and revive my personal blog, something that I believe is detrimental to my brand. I anticipate on having my brand not just be a name that represents myself, but also represents my work ethic. I invite you all to pick up from where I last left off and join me on my journey to reach the highest of heights.
