robogram: The Closing Weeks of an Amazing Year

The last few weeks of 2011 have been nothing short of amazing and I have been very fortunate enough to watch them dwindle down to only two until we welcome a new year. I’m an avid “instagrammer”, so check out some images I’ve snapped over the past couple of weeks.

IMKING Holiday ’11 Preview

For those that know me personally, I think you can vouch for me when I say that I don’t like to share much information on what I wear or where I may shop. I’d like to change that by sharing my latest find. IMKING is an LA based clothing brand that works by the motto, “See beyond the struggle, achieve the impossible.” Those words are placed into every stitch and piece of clothing they offer and it shows, especially with their Holiday ’11 preview. I was given the chance to preview their entire holiday collection and I was beyond impressed. Shown below are three pieces from their new collection, two of which I’ll be receiving. Ryan, head of IMKING marketing, says:

We put our blood sweat and tears in everything we do, but that doesn’t mean you should be afraid to give me your honest opinion either.

I love the collection and can’t wait to receive my pieces. Wait until I get permission to post the Spring collection. Bringing LA style to the East.

[VIDEO] BHTS: Karen Civil x GIVEN Liqueur x VIBE Vixen ‘Never GIVEN Up’ Photoshoot

A couple of weeks ago, GIVEN Liqueur and VIBE Vixen asked Karen Civil to take part in “Never Given Up“, a campaign put together to promote GIVEN Liqueur and inspire people with the stories of Karen and others on how they’ve never given up. I was on set with Karen to capture an exclusive and intimate glimpse of the busy 7 hour shoot. Check out the video above and as always, a special thanks to everyone who was on set.

[PHOTOS] ROBO + 20: A Private Celebration to Twenty Years of Life and Success

On November 18th, I held a private dinner in celebration of my 20th birthday, which was on November 22nd. The gathering was held at Delicatessen in New York City with some of my closest friends and family. A very memorable night, if I can even recall most of it, full of amazing food and champagne. Come November 22nd, I received an immense amounts of messages, wishes, and love from a lot of people and I can never say this enough, but thank you all. This was my second birthday away from home and, once again, it was one of the best. Check out a few photos from the dinner below.

Inspi(RED) to be Admi(RED)

Today is December 1st, which is World AIDS Day. It is a day that is used to help increase awareness, discuss, and fight this global disease that has stricken millions of lives. With over 60 million people affected by this problematic infection, it continually spreads rapidly minute by minute. Thousands die per day and it is up to the current generation to help stop AIDS all together.

Since the 9th grade, I have been an avid supporter of World AIDS Day and more specifically Join(RED). I started by purchasing various apparel from GAP through the Product(RED) initiative. Product(RED) is a brand that partners with many globally recognized companies to sell popular products that help fun the fight to end AIDS. Most of the products I began buying were shirts with brilliant world play like “Bo(RED)” or “Admi(RED)”. It has been almost 5 years since those shirts were launched, and the success of both Product (RED) and Join(RED) has grown substantially.

Join(RED) has now launched (2015)Quilt, to promote the Getting To Zero theme for today. A simple, fun, and easy way to show your support, you can create a panel and add it to the rapidly growing quilt. The panel I designed is above.

I encourage everyone to not only make a panel for the (2015)Quilt, but to also take care of yourselves. Wrap it up, practice safe sex, and most importantly get tested. We are all apart of a generation that is full of many talented, smart, and wonderful people. Everyone is affected when we loose just one, so lets make it to none.

The Original Don Is Back

The fact that I sat here staring at this blank text field for the past twenty minutes is truly beyond me, but I figured I’d start here — I’m back and, “New York is in the mother fuckin’ house!” I mean, I haven’t really left… It’s been a year and a half since I last made a post on my personal blog, Nineteen91, which will soon direct here and I thought it was time to bring it back.

Within that time frame, a lot has changed, including myself. I have lost myself, found myself, and most importantly, recreated myself. For starters, I moved to the concrete jungle that is more commonly known as New York City, which is where I attended college for a year before moving to New Jersey. A total change from Seattle, it’s one that I embrace and love so much because this is where I watched a year of my life and dreams unfold before my eyes faster than I had planned. A more than humbling experience, I have met some of the most amazing people and have been presented with even more amazing opportunities. To all of which, I am thankful for.

To be only 20 years old and have lived my life thus far as if I’m 24, it’s weird. When I am asked by others what advice I would give to someone aspiring to follow in my footsteps, at any age, I share the same answer each time: Push yourself to ignite that one passion you are chasing after in your mind. Once you push yourself, remember that your success from there on will have nothing to do with luck, but rather blessings. If you work hard for something, luck plays no role in how your dreams transform in front of you. I live, eat, and breathe by those very words and I encourage everyone to do you.

So here I am attempting to restart and revive my personal blog, something that I believe is detrimental to my brand. I anticipate on having my brand not just be a name that represents myself, but also represents my work ethic. I invite you all to pick up from where I last left off and join me on my journey to reach the highest of heights.
